SVENSK VERSION     VERSION IM DEUTSCH     VERSION FRANÇAIS

Who is Johan?

Well, I'm male, born in May 1976 and currently living in Linköping, Sweden. I'm also the eternal fanboy, an aspiring writer, and everything else ethereal that defines the restless, artistic type out of touch with the so called real world.

On the other hand, I'm also a cynical academic who has seen the "real world" and decided that it's best not to be too deeply involved with it. I still want to change the world, but I'm realistic enough to know my limitations.

Current and past occupation(s)

Currently studying for the Swedish equivalent of a M.A. in communication studies at the Linköping university. Officially, I'm a geographer (with a natural geography angle and a urban geography specialization) and among my many minor subjects are political science, commercial law, history and japanology. In the line of more or less real work, I'm limited to the occasional freelancing in web design, writing stuff, and running the Disneyania website (the big, moneymaking (yeah, suuure) part of it is in Swedish, so you don't have to go there).

I'm always in search of a real job, so any openings, ideas and opportunities are very welcome. (It doesn't necessarily has to be in Sweden, I'm moveable.)

How I kill time

My primary obsession is actually to write, even if I never seem to find enough time to do it. I'm also a comics and cartoon nut, be it the Disney-branded kind, the manga and anime varieties, or webcomics. Among other interests are history, politics, heraldry and vexillology and maps. Oh, and of course computers and web page writing, but those are fairly obvious in this context.

Friends, family, and other creatures

Being single, my world consist of my family and my friends. The few of them that are left, that is. To make a long story short, I really miss my old friends. Lately it seems like all my longtime, real-life friends have all been scattered over the globe, or at least over the country. I know it's nothing other than the normal curse of getting older, but it still makes me feel somewhat lonely now and then. Especially since I'm the kind of person who need time to build up a friend relation.

That said, be aware that I tend to be wary when it comes to approaching people I don't know beforehand. Mostly this is a case of me not wanting to force myself onto others and nothing else. I'm just not the kind of guy who jumps on people at the first opportunity. In web terms that means that I'm unlikely to be the one taking the initiative to friend anyone, be it in chat programs like MSN or in LiveJournal. That doesn't mean I don't want to, only that I don't have the guts to do it out of respect for the other part.

Good things to know

I can understand Swedish, English, German, French, Norwegian and Danish. However, understanding and actually being able to use a language is two different things for me. For examples, don't expect coherent answers in French, or grammatically correct ones in German. In effect, real-time conversations are limited to Swedish or English only (or possibly one-way Norwegian-Swedish and Danish-Swedish).

Now, if you for some reason want to get in touch with me after reading all this, the contact information is to be found here.

Websites under my control

Currently, these are the sites I'm - more or less - responsible for:

· Bit Alchemy Revolution - An experimental site that also doubles as my fanfic archive.
· Disneyania - in the beginning a fansite, but it turned into a serious site sometimes in the late 1990s. Mostly in Swedish. Also houses the subsites Under the Ranger Tree and TaleSpin Wings.
· JRO2 (also known as yuuga.cjb.net) - my student account, which recently inherited the remains of my old personal site.
· Tonakai Studio - this site, and also the main site of my little web empire.
· Closed sites are Johan's Digital Workshop and an old Geocities account.
