Why Tonakai Studio?

Why Tonakai Studio? Guess it's time to explain that, especially for the Japanese audience. "Tonakai" is the Japanese word for reindeer. The animal is in Swedish called "ren", which also happens to be my family name, although in a somewhat fancified form. It's no coincidence, my ancestors lived in the north of Sweden where reindeers are abundant, so when it was time for them to get a family name in the 17th century I guess it was a logical choice.

The Japanese touch is a result of my fascination for Japan and Japanese culture that started to blossom at approximately the same time as I started to look around for a good, more personal name for my website.
