ATS and ETS2 update time

SCS Software have now released their 1.55 update for American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. This time it comes with updates to the base game as well as to some of the DLCs.

Among the more noteworthy things for both games are changes behind the scenes in the form of asynchronous loading that should lower the game’s loading times, and some changes to the graphics settings menu. The in-game Driving Academy has also got an additional module called Truck Driving Proficiency which will provide some new challenges.

Specific to American Truck Simulator

The Freightliner Cascadia and the Kenworth T680 have both been updated with new goodies to both exteriors and interiors, and a number of other trucks have also got an additional component in new aerodynamic and paintable FlowBelow wheel closeouts.

Four cities in New Mexico – Farmington, Las Cruces, Roswell, and Santa Fe – have got their custom intros for when the player select the cities as their HQ starting point.

Players who own the Nebraska DLC will also notice the addition of new roads in the northeastern corner – US-20, US-75, and US-81.

Specific to Euro Truck Simulator 2

No less than 21 French cities have now received custom city intros which play when the player chooses to start their business there.

ETS2 goes to Iceland

Even if the European map for Euro truck Simulator 2 is starting to fill up, there are still some places left to go. And now SCS Software has revealed what’s next on their map table – Iceland.

So after the coming release of the Nordic map expansion the map developers choose to stay up north for yet another pack. Which I guess sort of makes sense.

The buses are coming

There has been some speculation about it for quite a while. After all, what’s up with those pretty detailed bus stations in some of the newer map expansions around Europe?

And yes, they seem to have been put in for a reason.

There will at some point in the future be not only trucks in Euro Truck Simulator 2, but also long-distance buses. For now SCS Software is a bit teasing when it comes to any details though.

ETS2 gets new Iveco truck

A couple of days after the release of the Greece map expansion DLC it is time for another release for Euro Truck Simulator 2.

This time it is a totally free gift to all ETS2 players in the form of a new IVECO S-Way truck.

Shiny new truck in shiny new landscape.

The new S-Way comes with three engine options: 460 HP, 500 HP, and 580 HP, and while it right now only has the 4×2 chassis option, a 6×2 chassis option has been promised in a future update. The S-Way also joins the earlier released DAF and MAN trucks in the club with advanced camera mirrors option.

Greek Drama and more

Exploring a map for a good map review is not without its share of drama.

Time for some Drama in my life again. But this time it’s not courtesy of Promods’ mod map but the real official thing.
This is definitely not going to make any scratch marks, right?
It’s all in the details. And knowing SCS I bet that phone booth do exist in real life.

Welcome to Greece

Euro Truck Simulator 2: Greece was released December 4, so instead of December darkness it’s time for some Mediterranean sun. A longer review is in the works.

ETS2: Greece release date set

The new Greece map DLC for Euro Truck Simulator 2 has now got a release date. It will be available for purchase starting December 4th.

Spooky times

Happy Halloween to you all! It is the time of year for transporting ghoulish goods across both the US and Europe.

As tradition bids, SCS Software have their usual Halloween hauling event going in both American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator 2. This year the challenge if you’re connected to their World of Trucks service and using external contracts is to move 13 loads of Halloween cargo between cities of your choice in order to get a couple of nice in-game rewards.

Soon to be a haunted Channel tunnel.
I bet even ghosts would like to go to Shorter College.

Some people just want to show off

In fact the car was even more impressive than that. Right when I turned into the parking lot, that car jumped up into the air and rolled over. Guess it must be one of those new self-driving, smart AI ones.

Or maybe it only wanted to get belly scritches.
